Farmers Insurance Company
Farmers Insurance is one of the oldest insurance companies in the United States. It has been a respected brand in this country since 1928. Today the company continues to expand its products and its locations and is becoming a world wide provider of insurance products. Customers are the focus of the Farmers Insurance company mission. The company is working hard to improve the communities where its customers live and also where its agents are located. Volunteer time by Farmers employees is encouraged and the company gives money to causes that affect the local neighborhoods and communities. Farmers Company was founded in the great state of California back in 1928 by Thomas E. Leavey and John C. Tyler. In the 1980's it became a part of the Zurich Financial Services Group. In 2000 the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies merged with Foremost Corporation and expanded its insurance products even more into manufactured homes and recreational vehicles and water vehicles. Farmers Insurance has historically reached out to help its customers. In California it has set up facilities to aid victims of the wildfires - writing checks for customers needs during the crisis (like lodging and meals). When Hurricane Rita struck the Gulf Coast of Texas, the company not only helped settle claims with excellent service, but also donated generators to help city governments. This history is sure to continue as the company grows and expands.
